Community Forums coming your way!
At a Special Meeting on Saturday, April 15, Norwalk City Council requested that community meetings be scheduled to give residents the opportunity to be heard in their "own backyards," at locations more accessible and less formal than City Hall. As part of the city's effort to strengthen community connections, these meetings will be offered each quarter to provide an open forum for the people of Norwalk to share concerns, questions and comments.
The Community Forums will be special City Council meetings open to the public,with a more relaxed format than regular meetings. To make it more convenient and easier for residents to attend, they will take place at locations throughout Norwalk.
The first Community Forum was held on Tuesday, May 9 at New River Elementary School. The second meeting in the series took place on Tuesday, August 22 at Sanchez Elementary School, with the third forum held on November 14 at Moffitt Elementary.
The City has scheduled the fourth meeting for Tuesday, February 27 at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Lakeland Elementary School, located at 11224 Bombardier Avenue. Registration is not required. Light refreshments will be served, and translation services will be available for our Spanish speaking residents.

Community Scarecrow Contest

The City of Norwalk invites you to participate in the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Contest to be held at the Halloween Festival on Halloween night! All are welcome (residents, businesses, schools, organizations) to participate by assembling a homemade scarecrow within one of the three categories: Most Traditional, Most Original, or Most Spirited. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each category. Scarecrows that are obscene, gruesome/violent, or have political statements will not be permitted.
